Naperville North won a 12-10 DuPage Valley Conference softball slugfest Tuesday over host Naperville Central.

Naperville North led 11-0 before the Redhawks batted in the bottom of the third inning. Naperville Central responded with 10 runs over the next three innings to make it a game. Naperville Central’s Meredith Siambekos drove in 5 runs and both Lindsay Gonzalez and Savannah Schmitz had 3 hits.

Maddie Vassar and Sarah Smith each drove in 3 runs for Naperville North and Callie Ladone had 3 hits.

Lake Park 14, Glenbard North 8:

Julia Caesar knocked 3 hits and drove in 4 runs in the Lancers’ DuPage Valley Conference win. Dina Falk and Jessica Gaseor each had 3 hits and Megan McCabe added 2 RBI. Pitcher Natalie Grubczak allowed 9 hits but struck out 16 batters. Heather Anderson drove in 3 runs for Glenbard North.

Metea Valley 7, Wheaton Warrenville South 6:

Host Metea Valley (13-14, 9-6) earned the DuPage Valley Conference win by scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Sydney Bajusz drove in 4 of the Mustangs’ runs and Kara Leckinger the other 2 to make a winner out of pitcher Elise Titiner (10-7). Sydney Young had 3 hits and drove in 2 runs for the Tigers.

Boys volleyball

Naperville North d. Waubonsie Valley:

The Huskies won the DuPage Valley Conference contest 25-12, 25-23. Michael Jennings recorded 9 kills, 7 digs and 2 blocks, for Naperville North, Kyle Josupait dished 19 assists and Sebastian Fernandez had 12 digs.

Addison Trail d. Oak Park:

Jacob Grygo tallied 21 assists, 5 kills and 4 digs in the Blazers’ 25-16, 25-18 West Suburban Conference crossover victory. Addison Trail (15-19) also got 11 kills, 4 digs and an ace from Kannon Nelms while Arlind Rojba scored 7 digs, 3 assists.

Baseball

Waubonsie Valley 3, Wheaton North 1:

The Warriors (12-9, 15-7) are alone in first place and have a one-game lead over Lake Park and Naperville Central in the DuPage Valley Conference with two games to play. They can clinch a share of the DVC title with a win over the Falcons (16-13, 12-10) Tuesday or Wednesday and can clinch the title outright by winning both games. Waubonsie Valley trailed 1-0 to Wheaton North starter Zach Colangelo before breaking through with a run in the top of the fifth inning and 2 runs in the sixth. Luke Gregorio went 2-for-3 and Nick Santoro drove in a run. Winning pitcher Quinton Zielke went the distance, striking out seven. John Carlson and Colangelo had 2 hits for Wheaton North.

Willowbrook 3, Downers South 2:

The Warriors (14-15, 11-7) trailed 2-1 heading to the bottom of the eighth but won the West Suburban Gold matchup with a pair of runs. Trevor Jalosynski singled home the tying run, and Mark Molitor won it with another RBI single. Matt Garbacz was the complete-game winning pitcher.

St. Francis 9, Providence 5:

Brett Whelton went 3-for-4 with a double and home run, and Foster Heise added 2 hits and 3 RBI for the Spartans (20-11, 10-11 Chicago Catholic Blue). Starting pitcher Nolan Pechan drove in 2 runs. Colin Wisted won on the mound with 4 innings of relief.

Glenbard West 5, Hinsdale Central 3:

Zach Lutz and Matt Shoub had 3 hits for the Hilltoppers (12-18, 7-11). Winning pitcher Justin O’Neal struck out eight in 6 innings while Arno Curtis struck out two in the seventh inning to earn the save. Alex Herbst and Alex Panice had 2 hits for Hinsdale Central (20-11, 11-7).

Glenbard North 9, Neuqua Valley 2:

Nick Frawley and Anthony Sottile had 2 hits and drove in 3 runs apiece for the Panthers (8-22, 5-16) in DuPage Valley play. Zach Bachara went 3-for-4 in support of complete-game winner Mark Cerabona. Tyler Cristofaro had 2 hits for Neuqua Valley (17-12, 12-10).

Addison Trail 14, Morton 5:

Ricky Perez and Robert Baughman each had 3 hits and 3 RBI while Michael Williams homered and drove in 2 runs for the Blazers (12-13, 7-9 West Suburban Gold). Winning pitcher Nick Villasenor struck out nine over 5 innings.

Montini 6, DePaul Prep 4:

Jake Rosley struck out 10 for the Broncos (19-12, 9-11 Chicago Catholic White), who rallied to victory behind a 5-run sixth inning.

Naperville North 9, WW South 7:

The Huskies (14-13, 12-10) trailed 6-1 heading to the fifth inning but rallied to the DuPage Valley Conference victory with 8 runs in the final three innings. Matt Schwartz went 3-for-4 while Christian Barczi drove in 2 runs and Colin Rivard had 2 hits. Zach Benaitis was the winning pitcher in relief. Griffen Pschigoda homered for WW South.

Metea Valley 8, Glenbard South 4:

Jack Feeley went 2-for-4 with a home run for the Mustangs (18-13) in nonconference action. Ashton Creal went 2-for-2 with 2 RBI. Trey Long was the winning pitcher in relief. Lucas Lorusso, Michael Ashe, Sean Cooke, Tim Marks and Joey Cimaglia had 2 hits for Glenbard South (14-14).
