Lake Zurich Craft Beer Fest

• 5-10 p.m. Friday, May 12, and Saturday, May 13, Henry J. Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich. Tasting passes include admission to the festival, live music, commemorative glass and samples from more than 40 craft beers. Purchases from food vendors not included in ticket price. Schaumburg Library Book Sale

• 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, in the basement of the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road. Sale includes books, DVDs, CDs and more. There is no entry fee, and all ages are welcome; however, children ages 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Hardcover books $1; paperbacks and DVDs 50 cents. Enter through the double doors next to the loading dock on the south side of the building.

Plant and Craft Sale

• 9 a.m. Saturday, May 13, William D. Ahrens Building, 3200 Central Road, Rolling Meadows. Rolling Meadows Garden Club hosts its sale of flowering annuals, hanging baskets, accent plants, grasses, perennials, vegetables and herbs. Chinese Folk & Classical Dance

Discover the beauty of Chinese culture through the artistry of dancers Olinda Chang and Mei Xu. They will showcase China’s heritage with the Tang Dynasty ribbon dance. Blessing of the Animals

Father Robert Heinz of St. Norbert’s Church will be officiating the multidenominational event. Have your pets leashed and/or in appropriate housing. Bring your own chairs.
