Beelow’s beer dinner

Beelow’s Steakhouse hosts the dog days of summer beer dinner featuring Lagunitas Brewing at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9. Food pairings include: Beelow’s meatballs from the farm in Mundelein served with peppercorn gravy; lobster and smoked cheddar mac and cheese; garlic mashed potatoes and root vegetables; and chocolate chip pretzel bread pudding. Beer pairings are: Czech Style Pils, Censored Copper Ale, Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’, IPA and WTF Brown Ale. $65 per person, excluding tax and gratuity.

Try the California Roots, made with fresh avocado, shaken smooth with Svedka vodka, mint and lime and a fennel salt rim, for $10.29; or the Blueberry Ginger Smash, fresh muddled blueberries, lime and cranberry with Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey and Domaine de Canton Ginger, for $10.89.
