Pitcher plants
Marvin Garber of Elgin writes, “These are pitcher plants. They live in places where there are few nutrients in the soil, and they capture insects to feed on. The victims are lured into a cup filled with a digestive fluid. In this photo, you can see a doomed insect that cannot escape.”
