Autopsy inconclusive:
An autopsy on a Fox Lake woman found dead near Nippersink Lake over the weekend has come back inconclusive, coroner’s officials said on Monday. Mary Anton, 57, was reported missing by her son Friday evening after he went to her home and discovered that she and her dog were not there, Fox Lake police said. Neighbors told police they last saw her at home about noon Friday. On Saturday, police were called to Nippersink Lake about 2:45 p.m. for a report of a dead dog in the lake near the 200 block of Leisure Drive. An officer checking the shoreline discovered Anton’s body. The autopsy Monday did not show any signs of foul play, officials said. An official cause of death is pending toxicology and further tests, Deputy Coroner Orlando Portillo said. Fox Lake Police Chief Russell Laine said police believe the death will eventually be determined as accidental or suicide. Police ask anyone who may have information about Anton’s death to call them at (847) 587-3100. Police have said her death is an isolated case and there is no threat to the community.
No classes at O’Plaine campus:
Classes have been canceled today at Warren Township High School’s freshman-sophomore campus in Gurnee due to a boil order for drinking water issued by the village. Warren District 121 Superintendent John Ahlgrim said an inability to safely prepare breakfast and lunch as required in the school cafeteria led to the cancellation. Ahlgrim said administrators discussed other options before deciding closing was best. Water pressure was restored early Monday afternoon to the campus and other nearby areas after a main break at Grand Avenue and O’Plaine. District 121 officials canceled classes at the O’Plaine campus at 8:15 a.m. Monday after the main break left the building without water pressure. Ahlgrim said officials hope the O’Plaine building can open Wednesday.
