


Touch-A-Truck:
West Chicago police and West Chicago Park District will sponsor a Touch-A-Truck event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at the Turtle Splash parking lot at 129 W. National St. During the free event, children can explore, discover and climb on a variety of construction and public works trucks, including big rigs, fire engines, police cars, excavating equipment and more. Lombard seat-belt campaign:
Lombard police are launching a seat-belt enforcement campaign today that will continue through June 4 to coincide with busy travel times over the Memorial Day weekend. North Central College’s Concert Winds, Symphonic Band and Instrumental Chamber Players perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, in the college’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Homeless vets fundraiser:
The 10th annual Murph4Miller fundraiser for Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at CrossFit Tri-Cities, 761 N. 17th St., Suite 29, St. Charles. The event, featuring a workout named for two Medal of Honor recipients, has raised more than $47,000 to help homeless and at-risk veterans and their families since 2007. There will be a special “Hero Hour” at noon Saturday, with military, veterans, and first responders completing the Murph4Miller in uniform. Sign up at tricitiescrossfit.com/murph.
