First Congregational-Dundee: On Sunday, Aug. 7, the Rev. In August, the Mission Ministry is collecting sugar and flour for FISH Food Pantry. Through Aug. 7, the Mission Ministry is collecting school supplies and monetary support for needy children in District 300. More than 90 percent of the households that make up Golfview and Perry elementary schools meet federal poverty guidelines. Any school items will be appreciated.

St. Paul UCC-Elgin: On Food Pantry Sunday, Aug. 7, St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 40W720 Plank Road in Elgin, offers “PrayGround” during the 9:30 a.m. worship, led by the Rev. Jill Terpstra. It is a special area set up in the sanctuary, a space just for kids filled with quiet activities that fit with the theme for the day. Children will stay for the entire service. The nursery will be available for those up to age 3.
Kids: Bring your backpacks Sunday, Aug. 14, and the pastor will bless them during the service.
The church’s summer mission project was to collect new shoes for the “Step it Up” campaign started by First Baptist Church in Elgin. This year’s project was a huge success.
