Like the Bulls as a whole, center Robin Lopez got off to a fast start against Minnesota on Tuesday, but couldn’t keep it up.

Lopez scored 10 of his 14 points in the opening quarter while the Bulls built a quick 20-point lead. But after scoring 38 points in the first, the Bulls managed to add just 56 points in the final three quarters against former coach Tom Thibodeau.

After Wednesday’s practice at the Advocate Center, Lopez said he thinks the Bulls do have a solid team identity.

“I think we’re a very strong defensive team, honestly,” Lopez said. “We’ve been very good at that. We’ve rebounded well, we’ve defended well, especially in transition we’ve guarded pretty well. When we give up offensive rebounds, when we let teams get easy buckets off the glass, we’re not quite as good.

“We’ve been pretty successful playing a certain way, and not successful when we deviate from that. I think that it’s really a matter of being consistent with who we are. It sounds simple, but it’s something we all have to do as a group.”

Tuesday was just the fifth time all season the Bulls have been outrebounded. The Timberwolves finished with a 49-42 advantage.

Rondo works out:

After missing Tuesday’s game with an ankle injury, point guard Rajon Rondo was on the court Wednesday at the Advocate Center and could be seen shooting around.

“We had lengthy film session, came out and went through some of our execution stuff, went through the game plan for the back-to-back with Milwaukee, and he was out there for most of it,” coach Fred Hoiberg said. “So he’s still a little bit sore. He’ll get a treatment today, obviously, then another one tonight and a couple tomorrow before the game and he’ll be a game-time decision.”

The Bulls play Milwaukee on consecutive days, beginning tonight at the Bradley Center. Hoiberg said the plan is for Dwyane Wade to play in Milwaukee, his old college home.
