Dash Around The Lake 5K run/walk: 9 a.m., Saturday, June 10, University of Saint Mary of the Lake, 697 N. Lake St., Mundelein. Enjoy a 5K run or walk opportunity. This is a CARA Certified Race, USATF measured and includes: race T-shirt, bib chip timed, age medal awards. Fees: $20- $30; free for children ages 6 and younger; strollers allowed. The 697 N. Lake St. (Route 45) west entrance is to be used, as the Route 176 entrance will be closed. The 5K is organized by the Knights of Columbus Libertyville Council 3674. The majority of proceeds go toward home repairs made by St. Joseph youth group’s July Appalachia mission trip. Some proceeds also go to local charities helped by the Knights. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. An inspirational concert event featuring special guests Michael Ingersoll (of the “Jersey Boys”) and Angela Ingersoll (of the “End of The Rainbow”). Chelsea’s Dream will kick off with a silent auction; a live auction will also take place during the show. Proceeds benefit the Chelsea Black Trust. Chelsea Black was the innocent victim of a drive-by shooting. She is a survivor, a fighter, and a quadriplegic.
