Sun City Prairie Singers: The Sun City Prairie Singers will present the holiday concert “Songs of the Season” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Huntley High School Performing Arts Center, 13719 Harmony Road. The program will feature both sacred and pop selections, including some they have never sung before. Tickets will be on sale from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 30, and Fridays, Nov. 4 and 18, at the Prairie Lodge. Cost is $10, $3 for kids ages 12 or younger. Theatre Company of Sun City: Follow the yellow brick road as the Theatre Company of Sun City presents “The Wizard of Oz,” written by L. Frank Baum, with music and lyrics by Harold Arlean and E.Y. Harburg. Show dates are 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, and Friday, Nov. 18; 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19; and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, in the Drendel Ballroom in Huntley.

Tickets will also be sold Monday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. until noon in the Fountain View Atrium. Tickets are $15 or $10 for children younger than 12. Cash or check only.

Sun City Lions: The Lions Club of Sun City-Huntley invites everyone to its annual holiday flower basket raffle. Original arrangements will be created and showcased on the stage of Huntley High School auditorium.

The following florists will be putting together these baskets, which will then be raffled to lucky winners at the event: Countryside Flower Shop, Periwinkle Florist, and Renee of Ridgefield, and they will be assisted by members of Sun City Lions Club, as well as by some members of the National Honor Society from Huntley High School.

This popular event will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the Performing Arts Center, 13719 Harmony Road.

Tickets at $10 each can be purchased ahead from Sun City Lions Club members or at the door.

Sun City Marines: Celebrate the Marine Corps tradition with its 241st Birthday Dinner and Dance starting at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Jameson’s Banquet Hall, 12860 Del Webb Blvd. in Huntley. The cash bar and dinner begin at 6 p.m. Men’s dress requirement is suit/sport jacket (tie optional, and for the ladies a pantsuit or dress. There will be dancing with DJ Brigante Entertainment. The menu features four meal choices, including soup, salad, cake and ice cream, coffee, tea and soft drinks. Cost is $32 per person. Reservations are due by Monday, Nov. 7.
