World War II rings stolen:

Naperville police are investigating the theft of several antique military rings from an antique store on the city’s north side. “Numerous” rings depicting symbols of the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Army from the World War II period were reported stolen between Sept. 6 and Sept. 7 from Affordable Antiques at 1508 N. Naper Blvd., police said. Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Police ask anyone who witnessed the theft or has information about the suspect(s) involved to call Crime Stoppers at (630) 420-6006. Callers may remain anonymous.

Officer honored:

Naperville police officer Shaun Ferguson has received a 2016 Law Enforcement Award from the Illinois State Bar Association for using his experience as a drug crimes investigator to share the dangers of heroin with parents and teens. Those who nominated Ferguson for the award say he is an excellent example of positive police-community relations as well as a good role model who values training and working hard. The law enforcement award from the association of lawyers recognizes Ferguson and officers like him for bringing honor and respect to the entire criminal justice system.

Volunteer for imaging sessions:

The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography program at College of DuPage is seeking pregnant and nonpregnant female volunteers to participate in free afternoon scanning sessions this fall. Volunteer appointments are available at 3, 3:30 and 4 p.m. on Wednesdays through Dec. 7 (except Nov. 23), and three openings are available for each time period. Pregnant volunteers can be in any stage, while nonpregnant female volunteers are needed for scans of pelvic anatomy, such as the uterus and ovaries.
