Route 83 repairs in Bensenville:
Lane closures are scheduled to take place Wednesday on northbound Route 83, in Bensenville, for sewer and pavement repairs. Beginning at 9 a.m. today, northbound Route 83 will be reduced to two lanes between Route 19 and Grove Avenue. The repairs are expected to be complete by 6 p.m. Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area, officials said. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment. Updates on the impacts to traffic are available at travelmidwest.com.
Crossing temporarily closed:
The Union Pacific railroad crossing at Wheaton Avenue will be temporarily closed to vehicles and pedestrians from June 8 to June 16 so construction work can happen at the crossing, officials said. Due to one-way streets in the area, signs will be posted with a detour route for southbound traffic on Wheaton Avenue. Officials say motorists should use caution near the construction zone.
