220-pound Bell rushed for 860 yards on 223 carries (3.9-yard average) for the Lions, who visit Soldier Field on Sunday. He has 2,235 career rushing yards on 561 attempts for a 4.0-yard average.

In some bottom-of-the-roster moves, the Bears waived linebacker Jonathan Anderson and tight end Greg Scruggs.

Seven-year veteran defensive lineman C.J. Wilson was added to bulk up a weakened front line that is expected to be without starting nose tackle Eddie Goldman (high ankle sprain) for another three weeks.

Linebacker John Timu was promoted from the practice squad.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound Wilson has played in 78 games with 19 starts for the Packers (2010-13), Raiders (2014-15) and Lions (2015).

The Bears were gashed for 199 yards on the ground Sunday.
