Aurora Central Catholic (1-1) at Glenbard South (0-2)
Game time: 7:15 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: Glenbard South ‘backers Nick D’Ambra and Adam Haushahn bring heat against ACC’s run-heavy double-wing. Quarterback Jack Crouch threw to Bryan Maroney, Ryan McConville for major yardage at Galesburg. Tavion Keith adds offensive shiftiness.
Chicago Christian (2-0) at Wheaton Academy (1-1)
Game time: 7 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: Chicago Christian’s wins include a forfeit. Wheaton Academy lost one of its first four games for the first time since 2013. That’ll happen when dropping 10 passes. The Warriors look to refocus and get backs Kent Harmon and Cristian Carstens going.
Downers Grove North (1-1, 0-0) at Proviso West (1-1, 0-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Elmwood Park (2-0) at IC Catholic (1-1)
Game time: 7:15 p.m. Friday
The quick hit: Knights all-state quarterback Luke Ricobene’s season-ending knee injury now puts the offense in the hands of another top athlete, junior Khalil Saunders — who on defense last week had an interception return for touchdown negated by penalty.
Guerin (0-2) at Fenton (0-2)
Game time: 7:15 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: Fenton progressed from Weeks 1-2 and new coach Matthew Lynch said the Bison are catching on to what he’s asking. Strong safety Ethan Doliente and outside linebacker Cesar Bermudez come off solid games to attack Guerin’s spread offense.
Hinsdale Central (1-1, 0-0) at Oak Park (2-0, 0-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: Whether it’s running the ball or catching it, the Red Devils’ Garrett Oakey is dangerous. Linebacker Aidan Cruickshank is averaging 13 tackles a game. Nick Biancalana helped salvage last week’s win with a blocked punt and recovery for a touchdown.
Lisle (1-1, 0-0) at Seneca (2-0, 0-0)
Game time: 7 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: Lisle lost 14-7 to Coal City on a late bomb, but Lions coach Paul Parpet Sr. was fully impressed with a defense that gave up 4 yards rushing. Defensive tackles Kevin Paz and Zach Zikuda, ends Ben Laning and Charlie Waldusky look to rekindle the fire.
Lyons Twp. (2-0, 0-0) at York (0-2, 0-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: York’s first touchdown of the season was little consolation in last week’s 14-7 loss to Addison Trail. Among the Dukes’ many penalties was a holding call that cost them another touchdown. Slowing Lions quarterback Ben Bryant won’t be easy.
Marian Central (2-0, 0-0) at Benet (1-1, 0-1)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: Benet faces a top contender for the ESCC crown. Marian Central quarterback Gavin Scott has linebacker size coming out of the backfield. Benet defensive lineman Jack Benish and linebacker Devin Petersen have shown they’re up to the challenge.

Metea Valley (0-2, 0-2) at Naperville Central (2-0, 2-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Morton (0-2, 0-0) at Hinsdale South (1-1, 0-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: The Hornets won’t face anything like the Lyons Twp. offense that hounded them through the air. Morton will focus on the run against lineman Sam Farina and linebacker David Nkansah. Receiver Destin Talbert is due for a breakout game.
Proviso East (0-2, 0-0) at Downers Grove South (0-2, 0-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: After last week surrendering a fourth-quarter lead, this is a good opportunity for the Mustangs to get healthy in the body and in the standings. Quarterback George Ross performed well in relief duty, aided by receiver Vinny Provenzano.
South Elgin (2-0, 0-0) at Glenbard East (0-2, 0-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

West Chicago (1-1, 0-0) at Bartlett (0-2, 0-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: West Chicago’s C.J. Griffin and Jahleel Humphrey made the big plays, running backs Ruben Fernandez and Luke Seeman moved the ball well against Elgin. It’ll take more of that and an ability to stop Bartlett’s power run game to earn win No. 2.
Westmont (2-0, 0-0) at Wilmington (1-1, 1-1)
Game time: 7 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: Westmont back Troy Schlicher and quarterback Brenton Baldwin each ran for 3 touchdowns in a 40-6 win over Chicago Tech. Wilmington is a huge step up, the class of the Interstate Eight Conference and nine-time defending IEC Small champion.
WW South (0-2, 0-2) at Glenbard North (0-2, 0-2)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: WW South cornerback Jake Healy has 3 interceptions, but the Tigers must tune up their run defense against the Panthers. Glenbard North running back Jayleen Fitzpatrick, linebackers Anthony Cusumano and Anthony Marre come in hot.
Willowbrook (1-1, 0-0) at Leyden (1-1, 0-0)
Game time: 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The quick hit: The Warriors must learn from the last week’s frustrations that included a blocked punt and two Hinsdale Central scores on third-and-long. Willowbrook’s defensive line has played well. Christian Washington and Kevon Dobbins are big reasons.
