It will be “A Whole New World” a bit longer for Disney’s “Aladdin” in Chicago. An extra 10 weeks have been added to the Windy City launch of the North American tour.

Producer and Disney Theatrical Group President Thomas Schumacher made the announcement at a Chicago news conference before rehearsals Thursday.

“The only way things stay is if the audience wants to see them,” Schumacher said about strong “Aladdin” ticket demand. “We had enough flexibility with venues after this so we could extend.”

The hit 2014 Broadway stage adaptation of Disney’s 1992 animated film begins preview performances at the Cadillac Palace Theatre on April 11. Tickets for the extension from July 5 through Sept. 10 go on sale April 7. Call (800) 775-2000 or visit www. broadwayinchicago.com.
