The Northwest Suburban Community Concert Association in partnership with District 214 Community Education will feature James Garrett performing “A Tribute to John Denver” in its first concert of the 2016-2017 Season, 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25.

He will be performing John Denver hits, including, “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” “Thank God I’m a Country Boy,” “Annie’s Song,” “Back Home Again,” “Sunshine on My Shoulders,” “Leaving on a Jet Plane” and many more.

Garrett has been performing professionally for over 35 years, most recently in Branson, Missouri.

He began playing and singing Denver’s music long before Denver became an internationally known artist. Garrett always found ways to incorporate Denver’s music into his performances.

They eventually met and became friends. In 2007, when Garrett decided to make Branson “home,” it seemed only natural to pay tribute to his friend with a show.

The concert will be at Forest View Educational Center Theater, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights.

Tickets are for sale at the door, www.nscommunityconcerts.org , or through District 214 at (847) 718-7702.

Tickets are $20 (K-12 children free with paying adult).
