Cardinal football: The North Central College Cardinals play their first home football game of the season vs. Webber International University (Fla.) at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, 455 S. Art exhibit: A collection of artwork featuring Bogumil Bronkowski and Nathan Motsinger is up Friday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 16, in North Central’s Schoenherr Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Evening of jazz: “An Evening With Jazz Trombonist Tim Coffman” with supporting North Central jazz faculty artists is presented at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in the college’s Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Coffman is a regular member of the Rob Parton Big Band, Chicago Jazz Ensemble and the New Standard Jazz Orchestra. Recording artist: Multiplatinum MCA Nashville recording artist Josh Turner performs at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, in North Central’s Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave., Naperville. A disciple of traditional country music and one of the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry, Turner has garnered multiple Grammy, MCA and ACM nominations. Presidential debate panel: North Central College’s departments of political science and communications co-sponsor a Presidential Debate Academic Panel and Watch Party from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, in Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St., Naperville. Panelists include three of the college’s political science faculty members and two outside experts, Dr. Philip Dalton of Hofstra University and Dr. David Worth of Rice University. Prior to the debate, panelists offer brief comments on what to watch for in the debate. Following the debate, they comment and answer questions. Free.

Lecture: “Globalization in Politics and Business: Talks and Responses” is discussed at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, in the North Central’s Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St., Naperville. The presentation is part of North Central’s campuswide focus on globalization. Faculty experts William Muck, associate professor of political science and coordinator of global studies, and Robert Moussetis, professor of international business, lead the discussion.
