Walgreens set marketing deal

DEERFIELD — Walgreens Boots Alliance has partnered with WPP and selected a team of WPP agencies to operate and develop multiple marketing and communications channels for its retail and wholesale businesses as well as its health and beauty product brands. “Team WBA” will provide services including traditional and digital advertising, media investment management, promotion & relationship marketing, public affairs, media relations and communications for the enterprise, realizing significant benefits globally. Hub office locations for ‘Team WBA’ will be created by WPP in Chicago, London and New York to support Walgreens Boots Alliance and businesses including Walgreens, Boots and Alliance Healthcare businesses. WPP is the world’s largest communications services group with billings of $73 billion and revenues of $19 billion. The company employs 200,000 people (including associates and investments) in over 3,000 offices across 113 countries.

Vertex buys development firm

WEST CHICAGO — Vertex Wireless said it has acquired Conversa Solutions, an engineering services and software development firm based in Orion, Michigan. Terms of the acquisition were not announced. Conversa specializes in customized engineering projects such as Android OS modifications, software and application development, mobile device management development and integration, as well as virtual reality development, device lab testing, and homologation support. Conversa will continue to operate independently as a wholly owned subsidiary of Vertex Wireless. Vertex Wireless is a distribution, logistics, and engineering firm that specializes in providing customized solutions in the mobility industry.

Property sells for $3.4 million

HUNTLEY — Marcus & Millichap recently sold the 7-Eleven Ground Lease and Shops, a 10,318-square foot retail property located in Huntley for approximately $3.4 million. Steven D. Weinstock, first vice president/regional manager/managing broker of the firm’s Oak Brook office, said the property sold for 98 percent of the list price at $3.485 million. 7-Eleven Ground Lease and Shops is located at 12376 — 12400 Princeton Drive in Huntley. The subject property features 12 fuel pumps in addition to a 3,000-square foot convenience store. Austin Weisenbeck, Sean R. Sharko and Adrian Mendoza, investment specialists in Marcus & Millichap’s Oak Brook office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a developer. The buyer, a limited liability company, was also procured by Sharko, Weisenbeck and Mendoza.

Vendor booths open for expo

BARRINGTON — Vendor booths are now on sale for the 4th Annual Barrington Family Expo, a community and business expo co-hosted by the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce and Barrington 220 Fine Arts Department.
