Celebrating Posada Hispanic tradition in Aurora

La Posada (“the inn”), a Hispanic tradition chronicling Mary and Joseph’s search for refuge to deliver the Christ child, will be staged indoors at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Nueva Esperanza (New Hope) Lutheran Church, 551 S. Fourth St. in Aurora.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
The Rev. Sandy Jones, New Hope pastor, said the observance will open with a bilingual English-Spanish worship service in the church chapel. Jones will give a homily and choir members will provide music.
After the service, church members will process with statues of Mary and Joseph to the church dining room for worship and carols. Lunch will conclude the event.
