LOS ANGELES — Two musicians earned a greeting from legendary film composer John Williams by playing his theme from “Star Wars” outside his L.A. home.
A YouTube video posted by longtime TV composer Michael Mille shows him playing the fluegelhorn alongside trumpet player Bryce Hayashi, 13, last week.
The performance drew the composer to his door, and he later walked down to shake hands with the musicians.
On the video, the 84-year-old Williams joked he didn’t think the teen would be able to hit the high notes, but he did.
Miller said he came up with the “wild and crazy” idea to take the teen he was mentoring to serenade the Academy Award-winning composer.— AP
