Robbie Gould joins Giants, replaces Josh Brown:
LONDON — Robbie Gould has become the second place-kicker to join the New York Giants on short notice, with Josh Brown again ineligible to play after admitting to abusing his wife. Gould arrived in England Friday and took part in a short workout Saturday. The Giants (3-3) will play the Los Angeles Rams (3-3) in London today.
Rockets guard to undergo knee surgery:
Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley, after meeting with team doctor Walt Lowe on Saturday morning, has decided to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, a source told ESPN. The surgery will take place Tuesday in Houston. After Friday’s preseason loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said Beverley would miss roughly 20 games.
Kings lose another goalie, Zatkoff headed to IR:
LOS ANGELES — Kings goalie Jeff Zatkoff, who just stepped into the starting role after Jonathan Quick was injured in the season opener, was been placed on injured reserve Saturday after hurting his groin during a morning skate. Zatkoff had to be helped off the ice after getting hurt several hours before the Kings’ home game against Vancouver. The veteran backup became the Kings’ top goalie when Quick injured his groin in the first period of the season opener. Peter Budaj started against the Canucks. He was recalled from the AHL’s Ontario Reign after Quick’s injury. The Kings used their emergency recall on Ontario’s Jack Campbell to backup Budaj.
Wolves earn first win in comeback fashion:
SAN ANTONIO — Kenny Agostino’s power-play goal with 5:29 to play highlighted a stirring comeback and lifted the Chicago Wolves to a 4-2 victory over the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday night at the AT&T Center. Forward Wade Megan scored a pair of goals and center Ivan Barbashev’s tally started the rally for the Wolves (1-3-0-0), who trailed 2-0 midway through the night. Goaltender Jordan Binnington (1-1-0) stopped 30 shots to earn the victory.
