Wego Drama at West Chicago Community High School begins the 2016-17 season with a show that combines cosplay with Dungeons and Dragons.
“She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurers Edition” tells the story of a woman named Agnes who tries to discover who her sister really is through a Dungeons and Dragons module. The adventure is both heartwarming and funny as secrets come to light.
“This production is fun,” said Megan Graal, who plays kid sister Tilly. “We get to fight and live out a fantasy adventure.”
“The audience will really enjoy what we are putting together on the technical side. We are creating a set that is a fantasy world,” actor Ken Correa said. “Building costumes, armor and play weapons is truly fun.”
“What I think our audiences will enjoy is the wit and fun of it,” actor RickyGieser said. “The show is set in the early ’90s and it is a nice throwback to that period.”
There will be three performances: 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17, at Community High School, 326 Joliet St., West Chicago. Tickets are $5 for students, $8 for adults, and are available at wegotheatre.com and at the door.
