Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss

• 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, and 3-5 p.m. Thursday, March 2, Des Plaines History Center, 781 Pearson St., Des Plaines. To celebrate Dr. Seuss Day, the Des Plaines History Center presents a program and activity Wednesday, March 1, for home-school students and again Thursday, March 2, as an after-school program. Prescription Drug Misuse Forum

• 7 p.m. Thursday, March 2, Adlai E. Stevenson High School, 1 Stevenson Drive, Lincolnshire. Parents can learn about prescription drug misuse and ways to prevent it during “Catalyst Parent Night: A Glimpse Into Rx Drugs.” Stevenson’s Catalyst Club and the Stand Strong Coalition are sponsoring the evening, which will feature a panel discussion with Lake County State’s Attorney Mike Nerheim, Stevenson’s Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator Dr. Cristina Cortesi, Officer Eric Kaechele of the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, and Stevenson alumnus and Live4Lali Executive Director Chelsea Laliberte.
