Veterans Creative Arts Festival

The Lovell Federal Health Care Center Veterans Creative Arts Festival highlights the visual art, creative writing and performance art of veterans who are enrolled for care at the FHCC. ‘Elemeno Pea’

CLC’s International Film Series

The College of Lake County Center for International Education will present four international films free. On Friday, March 3, see “The Lobster.” During the Ming Dynasty, a bookish, small-town painter finds himself drawn into intrigue when a mysterious stranger sits for a portrait. Meanwhile, an alluring fugitive fleeing corrupt officials has sheltered near his home. Other films in series include “A Touch of Zen” April 14 and “Dheepan” May 5. Spaghetti Dinner and Auction

• 5-8 p.m. Saturday, March 4, Peace Lutheran Church, 1050 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich. Youth groups from Christ Lutheran Church in Palatine and Peace Lutheran Church in Lake Zurich will host an All-You-Can-Eat Spaghetti Dinner and Auction. Dinner is $7 for adults, $5 for ages 4-12, free for children younger than 3. A silent auction is at 5 p.m. and a live auction at 6:40 p.m. Proceeds will be used to fund the youth mission trip to Lexington, South Carolina. The Choreography of Birds

• 1 p.m. Sunday, March 5, Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods, 21850 Riverwoods Road, Deerfield. Brushwood Center welcomes the work of painter, author and Field Museum artist-in-residence Peggy MacNamara to its gallery. The exhibition will include works from her new books, “Art of the Peregrine Falcon” and “Coloring Nature.” Free. The exhibition runs March 5 through April 17.
