Antetokounmpo, Bucks reach 4-year, $100 million deal:

The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a contract extension with Giannis Antetokounmpo, locking up one of the most versatile players in the NBA. The Bucks announced the deal with the forward on Monday, and two people familiar with the agreement said it was worth four years and $100 million. Yahoo Sports first reported details of the extension. The 6-foot-11 Antetokounmpo averaged 16.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season, his third in the league.

Russia outlasts North America in thrilling game:

TORONTO — Vladislav Namestnikov, Nikita Kucherov, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Vladimir Tarasenko scored on consecutive shots and Sergei Bobrovsky made 42 saves as Russia beat Team North America 4-3 in a fast-paced, end-to-end game Monday night at the World Cup of Hockey. Russia’s offense came alive with four goals in a 6:14 stretch during the second period to chase North America goaltender Matt Murray, who stopped the first 15 shots he faced. Backup John Gibson only faced 4 shots and stopped them all. No. 1 draft pick Auston Matthews, Morgan Rielly and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored for North America (1-1), which outshot Russia 45-23. Bobrovsky was brilliant as Russia (1-1) bounced back from an opening loss to Sweden.

Seahawks fined, lose draft pick for violating contact rules:

NEW YORK — Seattle coach Pete Carroll has been fined $200,000, the Seahawks have been fined $400,000 and will lose a fifth-round draft choice for violating the NFL’s work rules on contact in the offseason. The Seahawks will forfeit the draft pick in 2017 and also lose a week of organized team activities for allowing excessive contact in an OTA on June 6. That is prohibited by the labor agreement with the players’ union. Seahawks players will be paid for the canceled sessions in 2017. The decision was made after the league and the NFL Players Association reviewed the on-field practice video for June 6. Both sides agreed the Seahawks violated the no live contact rules.

Alvarez out for remainder of 2016 with broken thumb:

LOS ANGELES — Junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has a broken right thumb that will keep him out of the ring for the rest of the year. Golden Boy Promotions announced Alvarez’s injury on Monday. Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) hurt his hand during the second round of his victory over England’s Liam Smith on Saturday night in Arlington, Texas. Alvarez knocked down Smith three times despite the injury, which was discovered by an X-ray. His hand will be immobilized for the next six weeks.
