Environmental Graphiti Art Opening
• 1 p.m. Sunday, June 11, Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods, 21850 N. Riverwoods Road, Riverwoods. Environmental Graphiti is a nonprofit venture created by artist Alisa Singer, who uses contemporary art to encourage widespread understanding of climate science. The art consists of digital paintings, each using a graph, chart, number or word related to a key indicator of climate change as its canvas. Field Museum Climate Change Ecologist Katherine Moore Powell, Ph.D., will be on hand to speak on the environmental and social implications of climate change and efforts to counteract it. Free. Exhibition runs June 11 to July 31.
