Des Plaines police arrested an Evanston woman Tuesday at Rivers Casino on charges she kicked an Illinois Gaming Board trooper in the groin after attempting to use someone else’s identification to get cash.

Katherine I. Rodriguez, 33, faces charges of aggravated battery, battery, identity theft and possession of another’s credit card, police said.

Rodriguez is accused of using another person’s driver’s license and credit card to withdraw a cash advance at a teller’s window in the casino about 5 a.m. Tuesday, Police Chief Bill Kushner said.

When authorities responded, Rodriguez punched a security guard in the chest and kicked the trooper, Kushner said. Neither sustained serious injuries.

If convicted of aggravated battery, Rodriguez could face three to seven years in prison, but she also would be eligible for probation.
