At the drive-in itself, you can get your food from carhops on roller skates just as many originally did in cars similar to the ones lining up for classic car night.
The cars usually start gathering around 6 p.m., and spectators are milling around the blasts from the past by 7 p.m.
For information, call Sonic at (847) 458-6220.
Other spots along Randall Road host car nights, but not weekly.
For example, the Culver’s in Carpentersville at 8000 Miller Road hosts classic car nights once a month during the summer.
There are two more this year at the Randall Road-area business. One will be Aug. 10, and the other Sept. 14.
The shows take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. For information, call (847) 649-3225.
Fradillio’s in Algonquin, just east of Randall Road at 2321 W. Algonquin Road, will be hosting a car show Sunday, Aug. 21.
The show will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
There will be a DJ and giveaways, organizers said.
Registration for cars that want to participate is $5 and can be done on site.
For information, call (847) 854-5500.
