Hawk Harrier 5K: 8 a.m. Saturday, July 30, Maine South High School, 1111 S. Dee Road, Park Ridge. The Maine South Boys Cross-Country program will host the 2nd annual Hawk Harrier race, which will take place at 9 a.m. The event will include a 5K (3.1 mile) race, T-shirt, refreshments and awards for each age bracket. The Walgreens Major League Dragon Boat Racing series welcomes both recreational and competitive teams, featuring multiple divisions. This year’s event will be a one-day event with the nation’s best competitive paddlers as well as many visiting Canadian teams.
