Palatine’s Zach Oles was been named Bears High School All-Star for his performance in Week 8 of the high school football season.

Oles, a senior quarterback, rushed for 5 touchdowns and threw for another during the Pirates’ 49-31 victory over previously undefeated Barrington. Oles completed 14 of 20 passes for 200 yards and rushed for an additional 67 yards on 23 carries. The win clinched the Mid-Suburban West title for Palatine and moved the team’s record to 8-0.

Each week for nine weeks, an outstanding high school football player is being selected through the Bears High School All-Star program. Each of the nine players will have the opportunity to direct a $500 monetary donation to the youth football program of his choice. The nomination criteria for the program include on-field performance, community involvement and good sportsmanship.
