A West Chicago man survived getting hit by a minivan Friday while mowing his lawn, ABC 7 Chicago reported.
Guadalupe Ballinas was helping his son mow the lawn in West Chicago when the minivan veered off the road, knocked him down violently and then sped off.
Video shows his shoes flying off as he was thrown several feet.
The next-door neighbor captured the hit on a surveillance camera.
“We were pretty shocked when we saw it,” Lettecia Salinas said.
“He was out for three minutes. He just got up and walked inside,” Salinas said. “And then he finished mowing his lawn.”
Ballinas, a grandfather, is banged up and bruised, but he is OK at home.
Ballinas told ABC 7 a someone stopped to help him and had a picture of that minivan’s license plate.
He said he hopes the person contacts him again so they can track down that driver.
