Young professionals to meet

WAUCONDA — The Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce is forming a Young Professionals Group to bring ambitious sales professionals and business owners to a diverse network of peers and community leaders. The Young Professionals Group is a resource for young professionals in the Wauconda area committed to building relationships that will strengthen the business community. The first meeting in 2017 will be at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 18 at Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce Community Room, 100 N. Main St. Subsequent meetings will be on the third Wednesday of the month. New Sikich CEO begins

NAPERVILLE — Chris Geier has begun his term as managing partner and CEO of professional services firm Sikich LLP, succeeding Jim Sikich, who plans to retire at the end of 2017. The firm’s partners elected Geier to the role last May. Geier will oversee Sikich’s strategic direction and future growth. Prior to becoming CEO, Geier was partner-in-charge of the firm’s advisory services and investment banking practice and a member of the executive board. Geier has held C-level operating roles at both private and publicly traded companies and has more than 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions across multiple industries. He joined Sikich in 2008. Geier graduated with a degree in criminal justice from Washington State University and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Enesco appoints new CFO

ITASCA — Enesco LLC has appointed Anthony G. Testolin as its chief financial officer. Most recently chief accounting officer and interim chief financial officer, Testolin will oversee all financial aspects of Enesco’s worldwide operations and subsidiaries for the company. He joined Enesco in 2005 as corporate controller and was promoted to chief accounting officer later that same year. He helped move the company from a publicly traded entity to a private equity portfolio company in 2007. In 2015, he helped to oversee the transfer of ownership to Balmoral Funds, a private equity firm. He assumed the additional responsibility of interim chief financial officer in May 2016. Testolin is a Certified Public Accountant who earned his BS in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Great Lakes chief departs

OAK BROOK — Great Lakes Dredge & Dock’s board of directors accelerated the date of retirement of CEO Jonathan W. Berger to Jan. 3 and has also accepted his resignation from the board. Berger had been expected to retire no later than April 17. Berger’s retirement follows the announcement last month of the appointment of Lasse Petterson as CEO, effective on the completion of his U.S. citizenship process, which is anticipated during the first quarter of 2017. During the interim period, Mark Marinko, who has served as Great Lakes’ Chief Financial Officer since 2014, will also serve as Interim CEO. Marinko is expected to continue in the CFO role when Petterson assumes the CEO role. Berger will remain available to assist with the transition of the new CEO, as necessary.
