Expansion drives SCA revenue

DEERFIELD — Surgical Care Affiliates reported operating revenues for the second quarter of 2016 increased 18.2 percent as the company expanded its operations. Operating revenue for the quarter was $299.9 million, and net income attributable to SCA grew 25.1 percent to $5.7 million. SCA acquired nine new facilities during the quarter and plans to continue to partner with health plans, medical groups and health systems to improve surgical delivery. “From a strategic standpoint, we continue to partner with health plans, medical groups and health systems, and our development pipeline remains strong. said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Hayek.

Hearthside buys Oak State

DOWNERS GROVE — Hearthside Food Solutions said it will acquire Oak State Products, a privately held contract manufacturer of cookies, bars and other baked foods in downstate Wenona. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The acquisition will enable the company to add baking capacity as the demand grows for food contract manufacturing. The Oak State production facility brings the Hearthside production network to a total of 24 facilities. “Oak State represents an opportunity to add instant capacity to our network. Their flexible production lines complement our existing large scale lines, creating additional options for our customers,” said Rich Scalise, Hearthside founder and chairman.

Lee brokers 3 transactions

ELK GROVE VILLAGE — Lee & Associates recently handled three commercial real estate transactions in Elk Grove Village. The company negotiated the sale of a 54,060 square foot warehouse/distribution building at 800-850 Lunt Avenue in Elk Grove Village. Principal Chris Nelson of Lee & Associates represented the buyer, Door for Builders. The seller in the agreement was Sitex Group of Rosemont. A new lease was negotiated for 47,265 square feet of warehouse/distribution space located at 950 Thorndale Avenue in Elk Grove Village. Principal Chris Nelson of Lee & Associates represented the tenant, Procraft Cabinetry, in the transaction. The landlord in the agreement, Prologis, was represented by Kevin Segerson of CBRE. Lee & Associates also negotiated the sale of a 62,800 square foot manufacturing building at 1850 Estes Avenue in Elk Grove Village. Principal Chris Nelson of Lee & Associates represented the buyer, CSM Fastener Products Company, Inc. The seller in the agreement, RSI Investment LLC, was represented by Mike Magliano of Cushman & Wakefield.

Design Phase expands space

WAUKEGAN — Transwestern recently represented Design Phase Inc. in a 48,370-square-foot lease at Amhurst II, a 167,916-square-foot industrial facility in the Amhurst Lake Business Park in Waukegan. Design Phase, a global manufacturer of point-of-purchase retail displays, will use the space as an extension of its corporate headquarters located in another building in the same business park. Transwestern Principal Tom Boyle, SIOR, and Senior Director Jared Paff represented the tenant in the transaction. In addition to its corporate offices in Waukegan, Design Phase has manufacturing operations in Manchester, England, and Shenzhen, China. The company’s clients include Microsoft Corp., Disney, LG Electronics Inc., Bose Corp. and Apple Inc.
