The village of Schaumburg is currently seeking nominations for Volunteer of the Year.
Nominations for Schaumburg’s Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer Organization of the Year and Youth Individual Volunteer will be accepted through Monday, April 3.
Nominees can represent social, civic, religious, community, school and medical organizations. For-profit and political organizations are excluded. Nomination materials are available on the Village of Schaumburg website at http:// bit.ly/2lgHcj0.
“Volunteers are such an important part of our community, often contributing long hours through a variety of service programs, organizations and events,” said Schaumburg Special Events Coordinator Roxane Benvenuti.
“By nominating someone for consideration for Volunteer of the Year, we have an opportunity to give back to those who give their time so generously to make our community a better place.”
Award recipients will be selected by a panel of judges from nominations received from residents and the business community. Recipients will be honored at the annual Volunteer of the Year luncheon that will take place Thursday, April 20, at Chandler’s, 401 N. Roselle Road, in Schaumburg.
Schaumburg Fire Department Captain John Schneidwind will serve as the event’s keynote speaker.
