Mayoral forum in Aurora:
An Aurora mayoral candidates forum is 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Dunham Atrium in the Santori Public Library, 101 S. River St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Topics will likely include pension reform, government consolidation, taxes and fees. After the forum, attendees will be able to meet and talk with the candidates. Scholarship for volunteer:
Wheaton Warrenville South High School student and Naper Settlement volunteer Natalie Anderson has received the historical museum’s Copenhagen Schoolhouse Scholarship, a $500 award to be put toward her first-year college expenses. Anderson has been volunteering at the settlement since 2009 and says she enjoys “dressing up and doing demonstrations in authentic 19th-century buildings,” according to a news release. She plans to attend either University of Chicago, Northwestern University or Brown University in the fall. The scholarship she received is funded by a donation from a former museum education staff member, Eve Hushek.
Garden Club makes plans:
