One of the newest members of baseball’s Hall of Fame, Tim Raines, will be in Naperville next month to sign copies of his new memoir, “Rock Solid: My Life in Baseball’s Fast Lane” at Anderson’s Bookshop.

A seven-time All-Star, Raines gained his greatest fame with the Montreal Expos, but also spent several seasons with the White Sox. He played from 1979 until 2002 and will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this summer.

Raines is scheduled to appear at 7 p.m. June 5 at Anderson’s, 123 W. Jefferson Ave. He will sign his book, but not memorabilia. To join the signing line, patrons must purchase “Rock Solid” at Anderson’s.

Written with journalist Alan Maimon, the book follows Raines’ career from his years rising through the minors, to his highly publicized struggles with cocaine through the moment he received his call from the Hall of Fame. It includes a foreword from former teammate Andre Dawson and anecdotes involving athletes such as Frank Thomas, Rickey Henderson, Derek Jeter and Michael Jordan.
