Students and alumni of Metropolis School of the Performing Arts will open for select concerts in the popular Artist Lounge Live series.
This new program, SOPA to Stage, showcases Metropolis’ students’ talent while providing young artists with valuable performance opportunities at the theater’s concert series.
SOPA to Stage kicks off Wednesday, Nov. 2, when Metropolis welcomes alum Madeleine Spacapan as she opens for the Artist Lounge Live concert, “Unforgettable: Falling in Love with Nat King Cole.”
Spacapan, an Arlington Heights native and Prospect High School graduate, was enrolled in SOPA between 2008 and 2010, and has since earned her bachelor of fine arts in musical theater from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
“We can’t wait to showcase our students and alumni through SOPA to Stage,” said Metropolis board member Allison Orr, who developed the program. “Madeline is the perfect choice to kick off this initiative; incredibly talented, passionate about the arts, and, most importantly, she is a great example of the amazing talent and potential within SOPA.”
Tickets for the Nov. 2 concert are available at MetropolisArts.com or by calling the Metropolis box office at (847) 577-2121.
