System undemocratic but not obsolete

In a recent letter to the editor, the writer complains that “this country has neglected to abolish its obsolete and anti-democratic Electoral College.”

Yes, the Electoral College is anti-democratic — the entire Constitution is anti-democratic.

No matter how many people vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger to be president, it’s not permitted. No matter how many people want to vote for the next Supreme Court justice, that’s not the way it works. No matter how many people vote to abolish the filibuster, the Senate alone determines the “Rules of its Proceedings”. No matter how many people want to repeal trial by jury, that right of the accused is not up for a vote.

Look at Citizens United. So many people want them silenced, but “Congress shall make no law ...” is not subject to the will of the majority.

The Electoral College exists so that the people in Michigan don’t have to wait for the nine larger states to decide who will be their next president.

Anti-democratic? Yes it is. Obsolete? Not so much.

‘Sore losers’ push hacking claims

For eight years, Obama and Hillary cozied up to Putin and tried to “reset” our relationship with Russia by acquiescence. Putin’s transgressions into Crimea, Ukraine, and in Syria went and still go unpunished. Now the combined forces of the “left” believe that Russians handed Hillary this defeat and despite eight years of doing nothing, this liberal group now turns confrontational with only the good of the nation in mind?

Let me remind you that Hillary destroyed over 30,000 emails and then redacted much other information, all in violation of a congressional subpoena for these documents. Thereafter, the Obama/Lynch DOJ pressured the FBI to exonerate Hillary and essentially shut down a bona fide congressional investigation. Against this backdrop can any rational being believe that the Obama/Hillary duo would really provide any commission with the complete unadulterated facts associated with the Russian hacking allegation?

This whole charade poorly masks the true Obama /Hillary organizations for what they are — sore losers.
