The Pingree Grove Police Department is now taking applications for the upcoming Citizens’ Police Academy.

This program is open to anyone in the community of Pingree Grove ages 18 or older. There is limited seating available, and preference will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Citizens’ Police Academy is a crime prevention/informational program designed to meet the interests of citizens in the community. The curriculum covers a variety of subjects, including crime prevention, safety and other informative topics. It is intended to give the attendee an overview of how police departments accomplish policing the community.

This year’s academy will be from 7 to 9:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 24 to Nov. 9, at the Pingree Grove Police Department, 1 Police Plaza. Applications are available at the police department.
