technology, PBIS, Multi-Tiered System of Supports for Academics and Behavior/MTSS, co-teaching, etc. — in the very short time we have.

We are very excited to be exploring a new English-Language Arts program for next year for kindergarten through eighth grade.

I mention all of this to reaffirm our commitment to providing your children with the very best education possible. We are solidly entrenched in the hard work that comes with making each of our initiatives a success for the students. Change can be messy, it is absolutely stressful (and sometimes painful) and it takes time. It takes all of us working, learning and growing in the same direction.

As I sit in the numerous team meetings, committee meetings and professional development sessions that are needed to accomplish our initiatives and goals, I am always amazed at the creativity and commitment clearly evident by everyone around the table.

None of this is easy work, but it is necessary and it is what we want to do for our students and community. Our community rallied behind us when we needed them and we are working hard to honor that commitment through the work we are doing for students.

On behalf of every District 12 staff member, I want to express our gratitude for allowing us the privilege of educating your children and serving the District 12 community.

On behalf of the school board, I would like to wish all of you a joyous holiday season. On a personal note, I would like to thank you for allowing me the honor of serving the students and families of District 12.
