


Meet with North Aurora police:
Meet North Aurora police officers in an informal setting to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink free coffee. Officers will be at McDonald’s, 190 Hansen Blvd., from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. “I’m pleased to participate in yet another new initiative to connect with our community,” Chief David Summer said in a news release.
Literacy Connection bunco:
The Literacy Connection’s bunco fundraiser is 3 p.m. Sunday at Elgin Public House, 219 E. Chicago St. Bunco is a lively dice game played in six rounds, changing teams and tables while trying to get the most points. Participants can win prizes for highest and lowest score, first and last bunco, and door prizes. Tickets are $35 at the door. A cash bar and menu will be available. Learn about elder law issues:
The Eagle Heights Resident Association will offer a lecture on elder law issues. Attorney Diana Law, a partner at Law ElderLaw will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Greater Grace Community Church, 991 Deborah Ave., Elgin. Issues such as estate planning, cognitive impairment, disability, guardianship, asset protection, nursing home and assisted living, and long-term care planning will be discussed. St. Thomas More holiday fair:
The St. Thomas More PTO’s annual “Holiday in the Halls” craft fair and bake sale is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the school, 1625 W. Highland Ave., Elgin. ‘Haunted Page’ in Batavia:
