Get in your daily 10,000 steps during evening hikes with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County.

Each month, participants, age 18 or older, will take an invigorating two-hour hike at a different forest preserve. “Trek with a Naturalist” programs are designed for those who like active hiking.

The hikes will be led by a naturalist who will interpret the ecology of the preserve along the way.

Join one or all three hikes.

The first will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, 37W700 Dean St., St. Charles. Meet at the Great Western Trail, on the south side of Dean Street.

The second hike will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Campton Forest Preserve, 4N379 Town Hall Road in St. Charles.

The third hike will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Muirhead Springs Forest Preserve, 42W855 Bahr Road in Hampshire.
