Two physicians join DMG

DOWNERS GROVE — DuPage Medical Group announced two new physicians have joined its medical team. Dr. Nafisa Ibrahim is a radiologist with board certifications in diagnostic radiology and breast imaging, as well as internal medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Christopher Bogan is an internal medicine physician and has joined our team at 133 E. Brush Hill Road in Elmhurst. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. Comcast adds to Gurnee

GURNEE — Comcast has added fiber optics technology to reach businesses in the Grand Tri-Corporate Center in Gurnee, roughly bordered by I-94 on the east, Cemetery Road and Tri-State Parkway on the west, Grand Avenue on the north and Washington Street on the south. The proactive infrastructure investment will give the more than 20 small- and medium-sized businesses in the park access to internet speeds of up to 10 Gbps, along with a wide range of Comcast Business services. “Fiber means increased bandwidth, and increased bandwidth allows businesses to access more and more applications and services in the cloud, accommodate rapidly increasing numbers of employees in the field using mobile devices and exchange large amounts of data, as well as helps them to grow.” said Jay Dirkmaat, regional vice president of Comcast Business.

Ace sets record 2Q income

OAK BROOK — Growth from new stores helped drive up Ace Hardware Corp.’s second quarter 2016 income to a record $63.4 million. The hardware store cooperative reported income for the quarter was up $3.5 million from the same period in 2015. Revenues for the quarter were $1.4 billion, an increase of $8.7 million or 0.6 percent from the second quarter of 2015. “New store growth was the primary driver of our record revenue,” said Ace President and CEO John Venhuizen. The company added 42 new domestic stores in the second quarter of 2016 and canceled 29 stores, bringing total domestic store count to 4,315 at the end of the second quarter of 2016, an increase of 59 stores from the second quarter of 2015.
