City’s strategic plan:

A draft copy of West Chicago’s strategic plan, which has been under development since last year, will be available for viewing at an open house scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at city hall, 475 Main St. Representatives of Houseal Lavigne Associates, the consulting company hired by the city to facilitate the process, will be available to answer questions. Attendees also will be encouraged to provide feedback. The plan contains a vision statement, a set of guiding principles, and community goals and objectives. A draft copy of the plan also is available for viewing in the city hall lobby and online at www.westchicago.org.

Perfect ACT score:

A Glenbard West High School student, Willa Ostroff, received a perfect 36 on her ACT, which she took in April, Glenbard District 87 officials said Wednesday. Typically, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of high school students receive a composite score of 36.

State of West Chicago address:

West Chicago Mayor Ruben Pineda will present his State of the City address at 6 p.m. Monday, May 16, in the city hall council chambers, 475 Main St. Sponsored by the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce, the event is open to the public and seating is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
