A 49-year-old Glen Ellyn man has pleaded guilty to soliciting a teenage boy on the internet in 2014.

Kurt Ellinghausen, of the 0-100 block of Forest Hill Drive, pleaded guilty Thursday to indecent online solicitation of a child. He was sentenced to two years of sex-offender probation, 10 days in the DuPage County Sheriff’s Work Alternative Program and ordered to pay $1,002 in court costs.

Prosecutors said investigators were tipped off to Ellinghausen after he posted a Craigslist ad seeking a “Glenbard South High School boy to hook up with” between Sept. 11 and Sept. 30, 2014.

A detective posing as a 16-year-old student responded to the ad and began a conversation with Ellinghausen, who negotiated for sexual relations with the undercover detective, prosecutors said. The two agreed to meet at a local fast-food restaurant on Sept. 30, 2014.

Ellinghausen was arrested by an undercover detective posing as the student when he arrived at the meeting place, authorities said.

Ellinghausen has been free on $100,000 bail since Oct. 2, 2014.
