3-D printer firm wins award

NORTHBROOK — Impossible Objects’ Model One 3-D printer has been named the winner of the Innovation Award for 2017 from RAPID + TCT, the pre-eminent 3-D printing conference. Impossible Objects beat dozens of other 3-D printing companies and experts who showcased their products and ideas at RAPID. The Model One printer will enable companies to create stronger parts, using a wider range of high-quality materials, faster and at scale. The RAPID + TCT Innovation Award recognizes the new product or service exhibited that will have the most impact on the industry. A committee made of up members of SME, a society of manufacturing professionals, and independent industry experts served as judges and determined Impossible Objects’ technology to be the most innovative. The company expects the Model One to become available to the public by early 2018.

Zebra honored for culture

LINCOLNSHIRE — Zebra Technologies has been named for the second consecutive year to Forbes’ list of “America’s Best Employers.“ On this year’s mid-size company’s list, Zebra ranked Number 87. Based on recommendations from current employees and industry professionals, Zebra ranks among the top companies for its ongoing commitment to company culture and employee engagement. Almost 30,000 employees at companies with at least 1,000 people were surveyed for the America’s Best Employers List.
