Senior development completed
ELGIN — Walsh Construction has completed construction of The Sheridan at Tyler Creek, a Senior Lifestyle Corp. property that provides care customized to the needs of each resident. The three-story senior living community contains 64 assisted living units and 32 memory support units. Residents moved in a month ahead of schedule and have access to a wide range of amenities, including a commercial kitchen, dining room, arts and crafts area, media room, salon, fitness center, physical therapy and outdoor landscaped environments. The Sheridan at Tyler Creek is one of Senior Lifestyle Corp.’s latest Sheridan Collection retirement communities to open along with others in Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas and Florida. Future communities are being developed in Illinois, Georgia, Connecticut, Michigan, Utah, Florida and New York.
AKHAN tabs board member
GURNEE — Raja M. Parvez has joined AKHAN Semiconductor’s board of directors as an executive technology adviser. He will work closely with the executive management team out of AKHAN’s global headquarters in Gurnee. Parvez is managing director and venture partner at Energy Foundry and KB Partners, where his focus is on new investment opportunities in semiconductor, advanced materials, optoelectronics, lithium-ion batteries and renewable energy industries. Before that, he has successfully led public and private corporations in the United States, Asia, Mexico and Israel. Parvez earned his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Peshawar and MSs in management science and industrial engineering, both from New York University.
Molex honored for quality
LISLE — Molex earned the 2016 Huawei Devices Excellent Quality Award for its outstanding work in the category of Quality. Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., a global information and communications technology provider based in Shenzhen, China, gives the award. Molex is the only connector supplier company to earn a prize for quality performance in the 2016 calendar year. The Excellent Quality Award honors top suppliers that demonstrate standout results in providing reputable products and services to Huawei over the past calendar year.
Trade group names new CEO
ROLLING MEADOWS — Plumbing Manufacturers International based in Rolling Meadows has appointed Kerry Stackpole, FASAE, CAE, as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, effective June 12. Stackpole has spent more than two decades leading trade associations in manufacturing, technology and services. Most recently, he served as an advance team leader for the Executive Office of the President, working both domestically and internationally to execute events on behalf of the President and Vice President of the United States. Prior to the White House, he was president and CEO of Printing and Graphics Association mid-Atlantic, crafting the association’s award-winning marketing campaign and driving its merger with Printing Industries of Virginia. He has also served as CEO of four other trade associations and as an interim CEO and strategy consultant to professional groups. He holds a master of education in organization and management development from Cambridge College.
