Prairie Crossing Farm Organic Plant Sale and Open House: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, Prairie Crossing Farm, 32400 N. Harris Road, Grayslake. Come out to the Prairie Crossing Farm for an organic plant sale and open house featuring local farmers, a certified organic plant sale, local environmental organizations, stone-fired pizza by Grateful Bites, and more. Proceeds benefit the participants of the Prairie Farm Corps, a high school job training program for diverse teens in Lake County located on the Prairie Crossing Farm.

Forest Fitness: 8 a.m. select Saturdays, Lake County Forest Preserves, 1899 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville. Fast-paced group fitness hikes provide one hour of heart-pumping exercise in a friendly group atmosphere. Features a new preserve each week. Restoration Workdays: Various days, Lake County Forest Preserves. Grab work gloves and join other volunteers to save some of Lake County’s natural areas. Riverwoods Road, Riverwoods, at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 13; Ela Prairie at Cuba Marsh, 24205 W. Cuba Road, Deer Park, at 1 a.m. Sunday, May 14, and 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 16; Native Seed Nursery, 19876 W. Washington St., Grayslake, at noon Tuesday, May 16, and Wednesday, May 17. Volunteers should dress in long pants and sturdy shoes; bring work gloves. No prior experience is necessary.
