Tree sale: The Church of the Incarnation, 330 W. Golf Road, Arlington Heights, will be holding its Christmas tree sale through Dec. 23. There will be trees from Wisconsin cut just days before they’re displayed, including balsams and Fraser firs, with a limited selection of Spruce and Canaans, along with a collection of wreaths, garlands and swags. Staff will help you select your tree and wrap it. Additionally, the church will be supporting the local food bank of Northwest Compass. Bring any food items to donate. Blue Nativity: At 7: 30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, Christ Community Mennonite Church, 888 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, presents its annual tradition of “Blue Nativity.” Quest Theatre Ensemble, the People’s Theatre of Chicago, performs its special production of Blue Nativity, which tells the true story of Christmas and the birth of Christ with beautiful, large-scale puppetry with accompanying live music. Worship services: First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights will offer six special worship opportunities this holiday season. On Sunday, Dec. 18, the church will offer the Service of Hope and Healing at 7 p.m. in the chapel. If the holidays bring sadness, here is an opportunity for prayer, reflection and worship with others. Saturday, Dec. 24, First Presbyterian will offer three Christmas Eve worship services. The Christmas Family Worship and Pageant will take place at 4 p.m. featuring children in preschool through fifth grade, as well as the children’s choir, who will show and tell the Christmas story. Worship at 8 p.m. will involve the combined First Presbyterian choirs, soloists, brass, strings and handbells. The 11 p.m. service will include Holy Communion and participation by college-age young adults. On the following two Sundays, Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, worship will each include one service at 11 a.m. All services will include special music, and all will be webcast at www.fpcah.org/webcast, with the exception of the service Dec. 18.
