Hair Cutting Carnival to Combat Cancer: 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, Congregation Beth Am, 1370 Abbott Court, Buffalo Grove. Beth Am’s inaugural St. Baldricks and Wigs for Kids Event. Lag B’Omer is the thirty-third day of the counting of the Omer which is celebrated with the cutting of hair. This event will feature a DJ and professional barbers/stylists; 13 people have signed up to shave their heads, and four will be donating 12 inches of hair to Wigs for Kids. The men’s club will be selling Hebrew national hot dogs, chips, and water for $5. Proceeds from these sales will be going to St. Baldrick’s and Wigs for Kids. For the dinner option, RSVP by May 23 by calling the synagogue, at (847) 383-5017. There will be tzedakah project opportunity to make cards for children with cancer.
